About

This page is my outlet for my ruminations on how to understand the world, how to be a person in it, and how to improve it. The views I express here are entirely my own and should be read by noone.

I was born and raised in Monterrey, Mexico. I majored in Economics at the ITESM and really liked it. I left Mexico at age 27 to study an MA at the Vancouver School of Economics at UBC. Though I’ve never been a professional economist, what I’ve learned about the social sciences continues to influence my thinking.

I’ve lived in Vancouver since 2007, with a couple of years spent elsewhere. I’ve worked as a project manager, consultant, and a banking and HR operations executive in three countries. I’ve been playing the skills arbitrage game between the for-profit and non-profit sectors since 2019.
